The Gong is a city of commuters, students and the businesses that serve them

Wollongong sits between the escarpment and the sea, an hour and a bit from Sydney, with a lot of people who commute up the line during the week and spend their weekends and their money at home. The University of Wollongong brings students, the steelworks at Port Kembla still anchors the south, and the northern villages from Thirroul to Helensburgh have their own cafés and their own searches.

Business life runs along Crown Street and Keira Street in the centre, out to Figtree, Fairy Meadow and Corrimal, down to Dapto and the growing suburbs around Shellharbour and Shell Cove. Most Illawarra small businesses are found by word of mouth. The site makes sure the word lands somewhere.

What goes on a Wollongong business website

The suburbs from Helensburgh to Shellharbour, by name

Someone searching “plumber Dapto”, “café Thirroul” or “physio Fairy Meadow” wants a local. Naming Figtree, Fairy Meadow, Corrimal, Thirroul, Bulli, Woonona, Unanderra, Dapto, Shellharbour and Kiama tells them, and tells Google.

One tap to call, book or find you

A commuter who gets home at seven with a dead hot water system is on their phone. Call, booking and map buttons stay in reach on every screen, and the site says plainly if you do after-hours work.

Hours for a beach city

Summer weekends and the university terms change who is around. One spot on the site to change hours and add a note.

Your Google Business Profile, matched to the site

We check your Maps listing hours, categories, service area and photos agree with the site, and link your reviews.

Photos of your Illawarra work

A deck in Thirroul, your counter on Crown Street, your clinic in Figtree. Real photos, never stock of the Sea Cliff Bridge.

Who we build for in Wollongong

  • Tradies

Builders, sparkies, plumbers, painters and landscapers working the older homes in the northern suburbs and the new estates around Shellharbour and Dapto.

  • Cafés, bars and food

Crown Street, Keira Street, Thirroul, Austinmer, Fairy Meadow and Shellharbour Village. A menu, the hours, a map pin and photos that look like the place.

Physios, dentists, GPs, osteos and psychologists across Wollongong and the suburbs, with booking and Medicare details made plain.

  • Salons and beauty

Hair, nails, brows and barbers. A price list, a booking link and your Instagram pulled in.

  • Student services

Cleaners, removalists, tutors and repair people who get a new wave of customers every semester and need to be found by them.

  • Surf and outdoors

Surf schools, board repairs, hire and small stays along the beaches from Stanwell Park to Kiama that live on bookings and seasons.

Questions we get asked

Anything else? Email us and you’ll hear back within 24 hours.

How much does a website cost in Wollongong?

Our prices are the same across Australia: A$1,490 for a one-page Essentials site, A$2,490 for Business (up to 6 pages, copywriting, booking or enquiry set-up) and A$3,490 for Growth (up to 12 pages). All one-off. The optional care plan is A$49 a month. Business suits most Illawarra trades and clinics.

Do you have an office in Wollongong?

No. We serve Wollongong businesses by email and we do not have an office there. We work the same way for businesses across New South Wales. You get a link to your homepage design, reply with changes when you have a minute, and approve the wording before anything goes live.

How long does it take?

Your homepage design arrives within 24 hours of your go-ahead, and the finished site goes live within 72 hours if you reply quickly to the two rounds of changes. Timings run on your clock in Wollongong, by email, so there is no waiting for a meeting slot.

Should the site say Wollongong or the Illawarra?

Both. People search “Wollongong” most, but the northern villages and Shellharbour search as their own places, and “Illawarra” catches the rest. The page uses Wollongong in the title and headings and names the suburbs you cover.

I do after-hours call-outs. Can the site say so?

Yes, up front, with the number. Commuters get home late and that is when things break.

I only have a Facebook page. Is that a problem?

Facebook is fine for regulars, but it does not show up well when a newcomer in Shell Cove searches your trade. A one-page site links to your Facebook and gives Google something to find.
