Launceston is small enough that everyone knows you, and growing enough that they don’t

Launceston is Tasmania’s second city, the service centre for the whole north of the state, with the hospital, the university’s Inveresk campus, the Gorge, the Harvest Market and the cellar doors of the Tamar Valley bringing in students, patients and visitors. Mainlanders keep moving down for the lifestyle, and they arrive with no local contacts.

Business life runs along the Brisbane Street Mall, Charles Street and George Street in the centre, out to Kings Meadows, Mowbray, Prospect, Newstead and Riverside, and up the river to Exeter, Beaconsfield and George Town. A lot of Launceston businesses have been here for generations and never needed a website. The new arrivals search.

What goes on a Launceston business website

The suburbs and the Tamar towns, by name

Someone searching “plumber Kings Meadows”, “café Invermay” or “physio Riverside” wants a local. Naming Invermay, Mowbray, Newstead, Kings Meadows, Prospect, Riverside, Legana, Exeter, George Town, Longford and Deloraine tells them, and tells Google.

One tap to call, book or find you

A new resident in Legana with a wood heater that will not light, or a visitor looking for lunch after the Gorge, is on their phone. Call, booking and map buttons stay in reach on every screen.

Hours for winter and the festivals

Launceston winters are cold and quiet, and Festivale, Agfest and the summer wine season fill the place. One spot on the site to change hours and add a note.

Your Google Business Profile, matched to the site

We check your Maps listing hours, categories, service area and photos agree with the site, and link your reviews.

Who we build for in Launceston

  • Tradies

Builders, sparkies, plumbers, painters and roofers working the old weatherboards in the city and the new homes in Legana, Prospect Vale and Riverside.

  • Cafés, bars and food

Charles Street, George Street, Brisbane Street, Invermay and the Tamar towns. A menu, the hours, a map pin and photos that look like the place.

  • Wine and food producers

Tamar Valley cellar doors, cider makers, small growers and producers who need visiting hours, a map and a simple order or enquiry form.

  • Health and allied health

Physios, dentists, GPs, osteos and psychologists around the hospital and the suburbs, with booking and Medicare details made plain.

  • Heating and home services

Wood heater installers, heat pump servicing, insulation and chimney sweeps, the trades a cold city searches for every autumn.

  • Stays and tours

Small accommodation, vineyard tours and guides that live on bookings and seasons.

Questions we get asked

Anything else? Email us and you’ll hear back within 24 hours.

How much does a website cost in Launceston?

Our prices are the same across Australia: A$1,490 for a one-page Essentials site, A$2,490 for Business (up to 6 pages, copywriting, booking or enquiry set-up) and A$3,490 for Growth (up to 12 pages). All one-off. The optional care plan is A$49 a month. Essentials suits a single café, cellar door or one-person trade.

Do you have an office in Launceston?

No. We serve Launceston businesses by email and we do not have an office there. We work the same way for businesses across Tasmania. You get a link to your homepage design, reply with changes when you have a minute, and approve the wording before anything goes live.

How long does it take?

Your homepage design arrives within 24 hours of your go-ahead, and the finished site goes live within 72 hours if you reply quickly to the two rounds of changes. Timings run on your clock in Launceston, by email, so there is no waiting for a meeting slot.

I cover the whole north of Tasmania. Can the site say so?

Yes. The page names the towns you actually travel to, from George Town to Devonport, and your Google Business Profile shows the same service area. Naming the towns beats “northern Tasmania” because people search by town.

Can you build a site for a cellar door or small producer?

Yes. Visiting hours, a map, what you make and a simple enquiry or order form. The Business package covers it.

My old site still shows the old owner. Can you replace it?

Yes. Send us the address. We design a new homepage from what is already there and your Google listing, you compare the two, and if you go ahead we move the domain across so nothing breaks.
